Business Systems Analyst II
This position is located in San Francisco, Ca. and will relocate to Walnut Creek, Ca. in late 2009.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The University Business Systems Analyst II is a intermediate-level position for analysis and best practice research within talent assessment and development. This role is a member of the Talent Management and Learning Administration team within people & performance.
The primary focus of this role is to create and socialize processes for talent management tools. Tools include: learning management, recruiting, performance management and succession planning. This is done by analysis and documentation of tool features, functions and processes for efficient use by practioners and general users.
The University Business Systems Analyst II is an advocate for talent management. This role ensures best practice use of all tools and that tools perform to the needs of the user population. This role also ensures that associated job-aids, templates and how-to’s are published and kept up-to-date.
1. Presentation development: Develops and generates materials for presentations to practioners and system end-users.
Analysis system functionality translates into effective business process.
Creates documentation such as job-aids and templates for use by employees and practioners.
Effectively communications and socializes tool features and functions. Ensures maximum utilization of the tools.
Provide recommendations on process improvement, based on evaluation and best practice research around talent management tools.
Takes initiative to define issues, collect data and draw valid conclusions.
Work requires that the University Business Analyst is able to understand talent management industry and internal environments to make recommendations which will enable the University to attain high levels of performance.
2. Information Management:
Develop online library of resources for practioners and end users of the tools.
3. Business Analysis: Analyze user requests for systems changes or enhancements to determine if they are feasible or desirable.
Supports and maintains both owned and used systems, including:
Analyze and report system discrepancies with tier 3 support and vendor.
Analyze processing procedures and recommend improvements.
Provides ongoing training and Assistance to others.
Writes UAT test plans and develops test cases with expected results. Test configuration changes for each phase of implementation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a minimum of 3 – 5 years as a business systems analyst or business analyst.
Bachelors degree in business, finance, statistics, e-commerce, or equivalent experience.
Proven analytical and writing skills to produce appropriate documentation.
User level knowledge of supported business unit systems.
Ability to develop and understand the data relationships between systems.
Experience developing processes and user documentation, that enable effective utilization of the tools.
Ability to learn quickly. Is self-motivated.
Proficiency in MS Office and Visio.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with talent management or HR systems is a plus.
Working knowledge of process design.
Working knowledge talent management tools, specifically learning management, recruiting, performance management and succession planning.
Experience distilling data from multiple sources into business insights.
Proficiency in Visio.
