Billing Assistant - International Trade & Insurance Company

We are currently looking for a qualified Billing Assistant to join our growing company.  Corporation for International Business, a Kernow Capital Company, is a leader in ATA Carnets, customs guarantees, surety bonding and marine insurance, and is expanding within our specialized niche. The expansion of US exports has increased our business and we are adding staff to our billing and accounting staff. Our new headquarters offices are locating in downtown Barrington, IL, just 2 blocks from the Metra Train Station.

As a Billing Assistant you will:
• Bill the daily carnets and carnet bonds,
• Contact customers on billing, invoice and collections matters,
• File documents,
• Call customers on outstanding receivables, and
• Handle basic claims administration work, i.e. calling customer for payment, putting the information in Excel.

Core Requirements
• 1+ years experience in office and accounting-related functions including billing experience,
• Prior use of accounting software,
• Excellent phone presence and communication skills,
• Competent computer skills (Excel & Word – advanced beginner to intermediate level),
• Extremely detail oriented,
• Strong work ethic,
• Ability to work flexible hours and some overtime with little or no notice,
• Ability to work under deadlines, and
• Associates degree or equivalent.

Extra Consideration:
• Prior Great Plains accounting software experience,
• Prior insurance billing experience, and/or
• Billing experience in a high volume-processing role.
