Benefits Account Manager

Currently, we are searching for a Benefits Account Manager for our downtown location. We are looking for candidates who possess a friendly, positive attitude with a willingness to help others. Excellent prioritization, verbal and written communication, professional telephone manner, attention to detail, and follow up is required. Candidates must contain effective problem solving techniques and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Interested applicants must have a college degree or equivalent in a related field and have prior experience working in an insurance brokerage agency or for a benefits carrier. Ideal candidates will have experience in all areas of benefits to include health, dental, vision, life, LTD, FSA, LTC, etc. MO/IL Life & Health license in good standing required. Experience with agency management systems and/or client management systems preferred.
Benefits Account Manager duties include the following:
· Maintains complete client files in Brokerage Builder and Applied by following department workflow procedures
· Manages all aspect of the clients’ benefit policy including quoting, creating spreadsheets and/or proposals, and handling renewals
· Manages all servicing aspects including answering insured’s questions, meeting with clients, and assisting with claims/billing/enrollment issues
· Attends training sessions sponsored by insurance carriers
· Meets with insurance carrier representatives to maintain communication and stay current with changes to products, commissions, and procedures
· Informs Producers of any changes to a carrier’s products, commissions, and procedures
· Maintains updated carrier files for the Benefits Department and Producers
· Maintains Producer’s log book of all new business for Department Manager’s production report
· Reads trade publications to stay apprised of current trends within the benefits arena
· Supervises the publishing of quarterly newsletters used in prospecting
· Maintains communication with clients for upcoming renewals and options
· Executes follow through to make sure projects are done accurately and in a timely fashion
· Prompt and reliable attendance required
