Job Duties:

Job duties include but are not limited to:

Auditor IV

*Understands most audit functions including those which are non-routine; keeps track of instructions for many projects simultaneously
*Demonstrates ability to handle problems of large audit or diverse audits
*Makes decisions for self and auditor with regard to additional time and procedures; brings errors to the attention of supervisor and/or provider
*Ascertains auditors complete work in time allotted
*Presents and defends position to provider with minimal help from supervisor
*Builds constructive provider relations
*Assigns and develops auditors based on their training needs

Auditor IV - Reimbursement

*Establish Medicare part A interim rates for various provider types based on current Medicare laws, regulations, and program instructions to ensure that payments approximate final program liability within established CMS ranges
*Assist in the timely and appropriate tentative settlement for various providers in compliance with Medicare regulations
*Assist in timely recovery of program overpayments
*Reduce the risk of uncollectible accounts for providers who are overpaid
*Consult providers as necessary
*Request interim rate data and assist provider as necessary for timely completion of interim rate reviews
*Enter pricing information


Job Requirements:

Auditor IV

*College degree or equivalent education, training or related work experience. (3 or more years directly related work experience)
*1-2 years experience in Medicare auditing
*Minimum of 80 hours of continuing professional education every two years


Auditor IV - Reimbursement

*In-depth knowledge of Medicare Laws, Regulations, and Program Instructions
*Excellent communication skills
*Competent in the use of software applications
*Medicare auditing or reimbursement experience
