We are one of the leading insurance companies in the United States.  Our superior financial strength and consistent record of strong operating returns mean security for our customers - and opportunities for our employees.  You will find Travelers to be full of energy and a workplace in which you truly can make a difference. We are currently looking for a Administrative Assistant (Law Office).  Please read on for more details regarding this position. JOB DESCRIPTION: SUMMARY:Our Houston Staff Counsel is seeking an energetic Administrative Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support for attorneys and staff.  Primary responsibilities include: front desk reception (greeting guests and callers, routing calls); responding to queries in a professional manner; opening, sorting and coding incoming mail and correspondence; data entry; word processing, general office support and providing support on special projects. WORK EXPERIENCE:Three or more years of prior experience as a receptionist or clerical assistant preferred.  Law office and/or insurance company experience very helpful.   OTHER:Must have basic office procedures skills as are normally acquired through completion of an administrative/secretarial training course or its equivalent.  Must possess strong skills in grammar, spelling, written and oral communications skills.  Must have good computer skills, especially with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.  Must practice appropriate office etiquette and have sufficient interpersonal skills to communicate with attorneys and their secretaries, clients, witnesses and outside vendors.  Customer service focus essential.  Must be able to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.
