Major Duties and Functions Include: Preparing annual and quarterly investment securities footnotes for inclusion in both SEC GAAP financial statements and insurance statutory financial statements. Preparing investment securities holdings reports to support footnote and MD&A disclosures. Preparing investment securities holdings reports and related reports and analyses related to the monthly financial close. Prepare account reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items. Analyzing and interpreting trends and preparing reporting ad-hoc reports to explain trends and issues. Participating in process reviews to further automate data extraction and manipulation. Working with audit and controls teams to review quarterly results and processes. What You Need to Succeed: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years accounting, reporting, analytics or finance experience required. Strong analytical skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Proficient with Microsoft ACCESS. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with financial reporting systems (Peoplesoft and Hyperion preferred). Investment accounting and reporting experience preferred. Master’s degree, CMA or CPA a plus. Work shouldn’t be something you do just to make ends meet.
