Account Manager - Commercial Lines
Sr. Account Manager will be responsible for new business and maintaining existing accounts in the evaluation and servicing of policies and coordination between departments and individuals within our organization and those brokers and/or clients responsible for insurance and risk management.
Responsibilities will be to Develop and manage relationships with large line brokers and clients. Explain existing or new company products, facilities, procedures, practices, and underwriting standards, etc. Ability to make client calls and new prospect solicitations. Conduct product presentations. Develop information and documentation necessary to underwrite risks, bind coverage in field within delegated authority. Submit risks beyond authority to underwriter for underwriting decisions and pricing. Identify hazards and exposures faced by clients. Responsible for the preparation of marketing submissions. Manage the marketing process of new and renewal accounts. Ability to negotiate and handle high-profile/complex accounts and issues.
Prepare insurance proposals and present to brokers and/or clients. Responsible for the processing of new
and renewal business, including the issuance of binders, evidence of insurance, invoices, and for the prompt
and accurate processing of policies, endorsements and audits. Responsible for the collection of all premiums,
including audits. Retain acceptable level of renewal accounts, based on the number of account, acts as
liaison between our company and broker and/or client in solving problems. Coordinate with department
management to assure quality support services; solicit and develop new or existing business; implement
product marketing promotional programs; assure conformance to underwriting philosophy. Maintain current
knowledge of competitive conditions and market trends. Keep informed of industry development through
review of trade press and by attending insurance company meetings on new products. Communicate
knowledge to other staff. Participate in the internal underwriting committee decision process for selected
major accounts. Help promote the agency and insurance industry image in the community. Perform other
specific duties and projects as assigned by management. Follow all procedures in accordance with Company
Procedure Manual.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree (preferable with a major in Business, Marketing or Communications)
or equivalent business/work experience.
Agency and/or company commercial insurance experience required; minimum 5-7 years
preferred.
State of California Fire and Casualty Broker-Agent License is required.
Strong presentation skills.
Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
High degree of self-discipline and motivation. Demonstrate sense of urgency to resolve
problems and to meet broker and/or client expectation of service.
25% out of State Traveling
