ACT Project Manager II

If you are looking to showcase your Project Management experience in a fortune 500 company then you should consider Assurant. As a Project Manager at Assurant you will manage enterprise projects using best practices and be accountable for deliverables by understanding and balancing the competing demands for project scope, time (including estimating), cost, risk, and quality.  Manage enterprise projects that involve cross-site team members or are sponsored/owned by the Assurant Corporate Technology organization Understand and comply with established corporate and IT standards and methodologies. This includes, but is not limited to, financial, ITIL processes, security, audit, SOX controls and configuration management. Use the company standard project management tools. Proactively manage cus­tomer expectations on current and future business n­eeds. Recognize opportunities for system or process improvement and make recom­mendations or take appropriate action Understand the PMBOK knowledge areas and key processes and apply knowledge of industry practices and trends. Display working knowledge with differing types of projects (i.e. vendor selection, business process, technology). Communicate with peer group and middle management in IT and customer areas. May be called upon to interact with senior management group. Communicate with cross-site (enterprise) project team members, using written and oral communication skills to persuade and influence others. Foster an environment which encourages clear communication across multiple sites and functional areas. Ensure effective communication across project teams, particularly stakeholders.  Regular, scheduled meetings with Project Owners/Sponsors are required. Deliver the hard message to Project Sponsors, Owners, team members and peers. Escalate issues to resolution with influence. Operate from a base of principle centered leadership.  Behave in alignment with principles and values and demonstrate honesty and integrity. Provide an appropriate level or style of management for the project team. Build effective teams. Ask questions that bring out ideas and stimulate discussion.  Preferred candidate will have:3 –5 Years Project Management Experience Managed team of up to 15 associates Completion of Bachelor’s Degree or working toward degree and/or 2-3 Years I/T Experience/Conceptual Understanding (Mainframe, Distributed Systems, Inter/Intranet, Network and Applications)If this sounds like the opportunity for you then please apply today!
