We are one of the leading insurance companies in the United States.  Our superior financial strength and consistent record of strong operating returns mean security for our customers - and opportunities for our employees.  You will find Travelers to be full of energy and a workplace in which you truly can make a difference. We are currently looking for a Second Vice President Product Mgmt, Workers Compensation.  Please read on for more details regarding this position. JOB DESCRIPTION: We are looking for a well qualified  insurance professional with at least ten years in commercial lines underwriting, product management, operations, or equivalent experience.  This individual will lead a team of professionals managing all aspects of Workers Compensation strategy and execution for Select and represent Select's positions with Select Senior Management.  This individual will be the focal point of contact for all aspects of strategy development, execution tactics and business unit monitoring and work closely with Select Operations and Information Technology and Senior Management. This position will report directly to the Select Vice President Product and Underwriting and work closely with all Select Product and Underwriting 2VPs. This position is located in Select Home Office in Hartford, CT.  Primary Duties:Serve as dedicated Product Management lead for Home Office, Senior Management, Field Management and other audiences. Duties include developing strategy, product, services and/or new programs; coordinating with business partners both inside Select and external; assisting field in execution tactics, both local and centralized; monitoring execution and results of strategy; developing MI tools for product management; work with Select Product and Underwriting, Operations, Information Technology and Field Leadership on timing and implementation; work closely with Select Actuarial in developing and analyzing product related information metrics. Competencies:Business/Industry Experience: 10+ years of Worker's Compensation underwriting and product knowledge.  Solid understanding of commercial lines systems and compliance related to underwriting, pricing, and coverage.   Critical Thinking: Ability to translate vision into realistic business strategies, analyzing the most complex issues to develop creative solutions and mobilize resources to achieve results and to develop new products and markets. Leadership: Develop and execute business strategy, lead change, drive results and innovative thinking and product development.
