The only place where your opportunities never end We are seeking an experienced and ambitious eCommerce Manager for an opening with the Marriott Eastern Regional Office in Gaithersburg, MD. The eCommerce Manager supports regional eCommerce activities in alignment with Regional and Corporate strategy. Responsibilities include day to day interaction with hotels to ensure effective use of eCommerce including; HWS, eChannels, and eTools. Supports hotel specific online marketing efforts in conjunction with Sr. eCommerce manager. Business Context Perform quarterly hotel audits to assure that content, photography, and links on Marriott.com hotel websites are up to date and fully utilized by hotels across the region.Work with the Marketing Manger to identify and implement links to the Marriott.com hotel website from local travel, hospitality, attraction or other appropriate sites (i.e. Local Links/reciprocal links).Assure that hotel websites on Marriott.com are fully optimized to maximize traffic from search engines.Leverages eChannel marketing and promotional opportunities to drive need-time business.Support regional pull-through of corporate eCommerce initiatives, programs, and eTools.Coordinate and pull-through the national email marketing and Marriott marketing programsCoordinate field email marketing requestsCoordinate email marketing and hotel special offer submissions for regional-level campaignsSupport regional, cluster and property marketing initiatives with e-marketing components that are in alignment with eCommerce strategiesMaintain frequent, active engagement with corporate eCommerce to ensure alignment, pull-through, and 2-way communication about the status, performance, opportunities, and issues related to online programs and initiatives.Provide tracking, analysis, and reporting on the effectiveness of all e-programs: e-marketing promotions, PPC, SEO, e-mail, listings, links, banners, etc.Assist and coordinate electronic commerce marketing initiatives for the region and property including, but not limited to LetterMark, Virtual Concierge, eTools (eCards, Custom Web Pages and eProposals), etc.Interface with Marketing & eCommerce Managers, Revenue Management and Sales Leaders to position properties properly on-lineReview eCommerce property and eChannels report and work with hotels on corrective actions.Coordinate the upload of regional/property images utilizing Image Manager Candidate ProfileExperience 2-3 years in internet marketing, hospitality industry preferred3-4 years Ad Agency experience Skills and Knowledge Strong Project Management skillsStrong organizational skills, setting up files, etc.Detail orientedGood communications skillsCustomer service orientedMotivated self-starterIndependentGood people skillsAble to manage multiple projects at onceAbility to establish new systems, track promotions and provide reportsVisual Science, Vignette, Photo Shop, HTML, Dream Weaver, Microsoft Office software applications Education or CertificationCollege degree in hospitality management or marketing preferred Technical Expertise (Learning and Applying Personal Expertise)The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:Sales and MarketingMaintains and grows business of hotels by supporting effective e-marketing programs.Communicates program details for property.Executes regional electronic marketing initiatives with Sr. eCommerce Manager/Marketing Manager or Creative Services Manager of e-tools and Innovation as needed to achieve goals for all assigned hotels.Hotel Communication – Coordinates with marketing Managers and hotel Sales and Revenue Leaders with marketing program details. Provides updated reports on the status of programs ensuring follow-through and property “buy in” on customers service needs.Supports eCommerce strategies as requested by RVPME and RDMC, on ad hoc e-marketing opportunities and special projects.Maintains accurate and up to date project files and budget data and reports using project management system.Provides tracking data for all programs through Visual Science reporting system.
