We are currently seeking a well qualified candidate to fill our Director of Income Tax Audits and Planning role.This position is critical to the organization as it provided direction in tax audits, compliance and accounting. Duties and Responsibilities: Oversight of all requests by the IRS. Coordination of all examinations at the corporate office as well as those conducted at all gaming properties. Review and analysis of all proposed adjustments and determination of audit strategies in coordination with the V.P. of Taxes and outside counsel. Preparation of all technical protests for all unagreed audit issues. Negotiation of all audit settlements at the examination and appellate levels. Assist the V.P. of Taxes in determining tax strategies for both federal and state issues for development projects Work independently with the Legal and Development teams to design effective tax structures for all anticipated transactions Execution of tax policies and work with property personnel to ensure procedures are being followed.  Direct and review the preparation of all federal and state income tax returns for all Harrah's entities, including quarterly and annual filings.   Day to Day oversight and training of tax staff Review and analyze all department processes and identify and implement improvements on a continuous basis. Manage the Sales Tax audit process

Requirements: 7 - 10 years of relevant experience. CPA designation. Advanced Degree in Accounting, Tax or Law Strongly preferred. Training in FAS 109 Accounting. Strong negotiating skills.
