Sr. Tech Analyst, Ops & Infra (Microsoft Admin)
Position Description:

Overview:
Provides support of application data, development tools, data collection, languages or operating systems unique to business units (BU) in order to meet BU internal and external user requirements.
Responsibilities/Relationships:
- Liaison on tools, applications.
- Performs research, analysis, design, and implementation of technical solutions to meet current and future user requirements.
- May have development and quality control responsibilities for application technical design and implementation, client operations design, telecommunications design, database design, and system conversion.
- Has project responsibilities in all or some of the following areas: project planning, work plan development and staffing.
- Provide technical assistance on projects throughout the environment.
- Performs the help line assistance function, as required, establishing urgency of the problem and owning the problem through resolution keeping the client informed of progress.
- Coaches and mentors junior staff. Provide technical assistance and work direction to aid other employees.
Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree, with a technology or business emphasis, or equivalent education/experience.
- 5 years
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Implement and support Production, Test, and Office Server builds
- Perform frequent server health checks and implement patches to insure current revision level
- Administer active directory domains, Exchange 2003 mail systems, and corporate system group policies
- Perform daily maintenance of desktop computers
- Review current system practices and recommend technology solutions that improve team efficiency
- Trouble shoot both Server and desktop hardware and software issues
- Provide Emergency Support on an as needed basis (24 x 7) due to unexpected service outages
- Deploy, administer and manage Microsoft OS servers and desktops as well as services offered on these systems
- Responsible for off-hour and remote via VPN support
- 3 plus years system administration experience with state-of-the-art systems
- MCSA Certification
- Windows 2003 and Active Directory management: Must have a thorough understanding of windows networking (TCP/IP, DNS. WINS, DHCP, etc.)
- Group policies, FSMO roles, Kerberos authentication, and Global Catalogs
- Automation of desktop management and scripting is a huge plus
- Microsoft SQL Server database administration: Complete understanding of high availability solutions including clustering, log shipping, and replication; understanding of SQL security roles
- Coordinates the installation and configuration of new Windows based servers
- Performs analysis of current installed server base, to ensure all server systems are in compliance with Enterprise standards for licensing and configuration
- Coordinates the group's effort to perform routine server hardware maintenance such as applying updates, service packs, and patches
- Participates in special projects as needed
