GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Manager, Marketing manages daily marketing operations and strategy as part of the PHG team and under the direction of the V.P., Marketing on programs including but not limited to:  hotel relations, directories, e-communications, HHA website, cooperative marketing, partnership marketing, regional marketing, and special events.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

Under the general supervision of the V.P., Marketing, the Manager, Marketing will work closely with PHG marketing, communication teams, and Americas Area and Regional Directors.

 

Regular interaction with member hotels including webinars, action plan development, and follow-through is a priority.  This position interacts with hotel contacts, PHG associates, partners, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation, as needed.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

A.  Hotel Relations.  The Manager, Marketing will become an expert in HHA member hotels. This knowledge will be contributed to directories, newsletters, communications, marketing programs, and public relations. They will be the key contact person for hotels in all areas of marketing.

 

B. Cooperative Marketing.  Manager, Marketing will be involved in the planning and production of the marketing and media plans and responsible for execution. In support of marketing programs, Manager educates hotels through webinars and other communications.

 

C. Partnership Marketing.  Manager, Marketing will interact with established partners on partnership marketing projects such as frequent flyer and redemption discounts. Responsibilities include execution of programs and member participation.

 

D. Regional Marketing.  Manager, Marketing will work with smaller groups of hotels to create and execute regional marketing campaigns working with Area Managing Directors.

 

E. Special Events. Manager, Marketing will participate in the planning and promotion of all HHA events as needed to include various media events and conferences.

 QUALIFICATIONS

·  Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.  Candidates must pass test.

·  Excellent presentation skills both in person and via webinar/conference call.

·  Technology savvy with proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.

·  Educated to degree level or show a similar level of professional development.

·  Experience in the travel industry preferred.

·  Strong knowledge of American history and affinity for historic preservation.

·  Flexible worker with the ability to work as part of a team and must be able to mange time effectively.

·  Minimum three years in a marketing role.

·  Working knowledge of at least one of the following software programs: Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, or MS Publisher

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working environment is located in Washington, D.C., close to commuter lines. Incumbent is seated most of the time. Work will be conducted in the office from the hours of 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., Monday to Friday. This position will consist of 10% travel outside the office.
