About Our FacilityHealthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital of York is an Inpatient facility with 67 beds and several outpatient centers located 50 miles north of Baltimore, MD, 25 miles south of the state capital in Harrisburg, PA, situated between historic Gettysburg on the West and Lancaster on the East. Job DescriptionThe Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the following functions: *Assisting in the development of patient care programs, policies, and procedures that describe how patients' needs for nursing care, treatment, and services are assessed, evaluated, and met. *Supervising the provision of nursing care, treatment, and services. *Insuring the appropriate types and numbers of nursing personnel necessary to provide nursing care are present and appropriately assigned. *Promoting an environment and culture that enables Healthsouth to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals, conveying the hospital mission to all staff, holding staff accountable for performance, and motivating staff to improve performance. *Coordinating administration and clinical activities, both inter and intra-departmentally, so that optimum patient care is provided, staffing is maintained and costs contained. *Providing Crisis Management in the absence of the Safety Officer, CEO, and/or other Senior Managers. POSITION REQUIREMENTS - Nurse SupervisorLicense or Certification: *Current RN licensure appropriate to state regulations *CPR certification *CRRN certification preferredTotal Education, Vocational Training and Experience: *Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field preferred *Two years experience in inpatient hospital setting *Exhibited leadership abilitiesMachines, Equipment Used: *General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.Physical Requirements: *Good visual acuity and ability to communicate *Ability to lift, push, pull, and retrieve approximately 10 percent of the time. *Ability to safely lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds. *Ability to demonstrate safe retrieval skills from above head to floor level with objects up to ten pounds.Skills and Abilities: *Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English. *Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner *Ability to communicate effectively in both writing and verbal arenas as well as via email. *Ability to work independently without supervision.Environmental Conditions: *Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment. Occasional outdoor exposure *Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required. *Handicapped accessibility. *May work under stressful circumstances at times.Proficiency or Productivity Standards: *May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and or night shifts if needed to meet deadlines. *May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts. *Will be required to work as necessary during disaster situations, i.e. before, during or after a disaster. *May be required to stay after workday to assist after a disaster situation until relief arrives. *Regular attendance and reporting on time to work is a requirement of position.This is a weekend supervisor position. Hours are every Saturday & Sunday from 7 am - 7:30 pm.
