WELLNESS PROGRAM ASSOCIATE

- High school diploma or equivalent is required - 1-2 years experience is required The position is grant funded and must be filled by a consumer of mental health services. To organize and coordinate the self-help center's wellness workshops and programs. To develop and implement the goals and objectives of the Wellness Component of the Consumer Run Self Help Center. Responsible for distributing information regarding programs, classes, workshops and newsletter; facilitating workshops and classes; scheduling; promoting programs through public speaking; bring in local professionals to facilitate wellness oriented programming and liaison with community resources for places to hold programs, (ex. Healthy lifestyles, nutrition and weight loss, stretching, yoga, tai chi, smoking cessation, etc). To be an active member of the Self help center team. High school diploma required. Associate's Degree in Human Services is preferred. The position is grant funded and must be filled by someone who has personal experience with mental health issues. Must have 2 years experience and working knowledge of the self help movement. Valid drivers license required. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED: Knowledge of Hunterdon County and its services, group facilitation. Public speaking. Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to relate well to consumers of mental health services, service providers, medical professionals and family members. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
