Vice President Medicaid Finance

The company is part of Ovations, a family of UnitedHealth Group businesses dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Americans ages 50 and older.  This key finance leader will provide financial leadership, oversight and management of Evercare’s Medicaid business.  Responsibilities: Complete managerial responsibility for all aspects surrounding the financial planning and analysis of Evercare’s Medicaid business.Directs reporting and analysis of monthly results, identifying trends, variances and potential performance opportunities or concerns.Collaborate with local market leadership to design initiatives that keep financial performance in line with expectations.Provides finance leadership and oversight for business development activity including but not limited to Medicaid expansions and provider network contracting.Collaborates with underwriting and the local market on annual rate negotiations.Frequently interacts with senior leadership, inside and outside the organization.Manages capital planning process for the Medicaid business.Assigns, directs, reviews and prioritizes work activity of managerial and staff personnel. Influences actions of peers inside and outside of finance. Mentors, motivates performance, manages and makes employment and compensation decisions related to staff. 10 or more years of broad experience in Finance disciplines and Medicaid programs.Strong working knowledge of financial systems, statements and reports. BS in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent experience. CPA, CMA or MBA preferred. Ability to provide objective, analytical evaluation of staff and their work product. Active change agent within and outside Finance and Medicaid. Confident in challenging and making difficult decisions related to personnel and business issues. Strong work ethic, independence and dependability. Able to highlight issues or problems and convey complex thoughts, written and oral, in a clear, concise, timely manner.
