Position Description:Job Summary: This position is responsible for maintaining an effective Compliance Program for Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare (“WFH”) to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct. This position oversees proactive monitoring activities, evaluates compliance issues and concerns and takes corrective action when necessary. This position reports indirectly to the Audit Committee of the WFSI Board. This position is also responsible for compliance with the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules (those aspects that are not controlled by the IS department). This position is responsible for developing policies and overseeing implementation of privacy and security principles, policies and practices and is responsible for coordinating activities with privacy implications, as well as monitoring services and systems to assure meaningful privacy and security practices are in place and operational. This position acts as the Privacy Officer for WFH - SE Wisconsin, Wheaton Franciscan Medical Group and Wheaton Franciscan Health Plan. This position keeps System and regional executives apprised of the status compliance and HIPAA issues. This position works directly with leaders, physicians, and staff regarding compliance and HIPAA issues. Qualifications:Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Health Administration, or related field is required; Master’s and/or JD degree preferred. • Knowledge and experience of health care laws, regulations and standards including Medicare reimbursement, HIPAA privacy and security, and clinical research. • Knowledgeable in project management, systems analysis, team facilitation, and conflict management. • Advanced communication skills with the capability for clear and concise oral and written expression are essential. • Ability to conduct presentations to groups of all sizes.• Ability to work efficiently and effectively with all levels of management, physicians and staff. • Proficient with change process.• Attention to detail.• A high level of integrity and trust is necessary.• Sound decision making capability. Ability to work independently. Tenacious in resolving difficult problems. • Strong investigational and critical thinking sills. High level of problem solving and inductive reasoning skills, which manifests itself in creative solutions to organizational and/or operational issues.• Ability to respond and prioritize effectively and meet deadlines. • Organizes and manages work to achieve results and tracks performance so that problems are detected early or prevented entirely.• Strong ability to interpret/provide support of policy.• High level of customer service/interpersonal skills.• Ability to use desk top computer applications.• Provides consistent evidence of ability to effectively working in a matrix organization.• Exhibits a consistent commitment to continuous improvement.
