Veterinary Hospital Job Opportunities
Friendship Hospital for Animals is a twenty-four hour, AAHA certified animal hospital for dogs and cats in Northwest, Washington, DC. FHA has thirty veterinarians on staff who offer primary, critical, and specialty care, including internal medicine, oncology, orthopedic surgery and cardiology.
We are seeking experienced veterinary technicians with the ability to work in a fast paced environment. We pride ourselves on the high level of patient care and amount of compassion associated with the care and treatment our patients. Room for professional growth with paid Continuing Education.
Technicians on cage bank duty have a small volume of cases, allowing for attention to detail on each patient. Duties for technicians include placing catheters, running ISTAT blood cartridges, and nursing care for ICU patients, assisting with surgery, placing urinary catheters, and teaching/mentoring assistants.
Experienced technicians will work a shift similar to the following:
1st Shift - 7:00am - 5:00pm (Days to be determined) 4 day work week, 10 hr days.
2nd Shift - 3:00pm - 1:00am (Days to be determined) 4 day work week, 10 hr days.
Surgical technicians will work a shift similar to the following (experience in surgery/dentistry required):
1st Shift - 8-8:30am to 4-4:30pm (Monday through Friday) must have flexibility in schedule.
Experienced veterinary technician compensation (licensed or unlicensed):
$33,280/yr - $44,720/yr ($16.00/hr - $21.50/hr to start depending on experience and skill set.)

We are dedicated to offering excellent service to our clients through three areas of focus: Client Care, Pharmacy and Veterinary Assistant. Each focal area will offer extended training in client service and the specific skills pertaining to each individual track.
The Client Care department offers a tremendous opportunity for growth as well as on the job training in one of the largest veterinary hospitals in Washington, DC.
We have the following shift available immediately:
2nd Shift - 2:00pm - 10:00pm (Days to be determined)
Client Care Compensation: $27,560/yr ($13.25/hr to start with room for growth within 1st 6 months of employment.)
