Tissue Bank Technologist
A Tissue Bank Technologist provides timely and quality clinical information and improved patient outcomes by accurately performing laboratory tests and procedures. Works effectively with others to meet the needs of the patients and care providers. Assist leadership team with administrative and technical support.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs tissue tech functions as well as technical functions of Medical Technologist (MT) as outlined in the MT job description. Performs tissue storage tasks and ensures services are delivered in a responsible manner through management of workflow and supply inventory. Provides technical support for staff and assists Blood Bank personnel in performing daily tasks. Perform QC and instrument maintenance, taking appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision. Demonstrates professional skills and technical competency as specified in the Laboratory Competency policy. Follows departmental and system policies and procedures.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or a related science is preferred. Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP or equivalent). Eligible for classification as a Medical Technologist by the Georgia Department of Human Resources. Previous experience in a clinical laboratory is preferred.
