Therapist (9 month position)
JOB SUMMARY:
Provision of behavior health services for CEP students and consultation for CEP staff. CEP is an innovative private school that contracts with the Philadelphia School District to serve middle and high school students who are referred by the district’s Central Disciplinary Committee due to challenging behaviors, truancy and low academic performance. Students reside in all geographic areas and the majority of students are bussed to CEP. Services to be provided include individual, group and family psychotherapy; crisis intervention; planning and facilitation of therapeutic social/recreational activities during school closings and consultation for school staff. Services will be provided at the CEP campus (4224 N. Front St.); in student homes (city-wide) and in other community settings deemed appropriate. Evening and weekend appointments will be scheduled as required to meet student/family needs. Therapists are also required to rotate pager for the provision of 24-hour/7 day week telephone triage.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Provide direct treatment in individual, family and group therapy.
2. Provide bio-psychosocial evaluations.
3. Plan, implement and supervise therapeutic social/recreational activities.
4. Provide consultation for CEP staff as assigned.
5. Coordinate service provision with other treatment team members, CEP staff and other service systems involved with the student and his/her family.
6. Be flexible in scheduling appointments to meet student/family needs.
7. Provide in-home therapy sessions as required to meet student/family needs.
8. Provide workshops for families, students and school personnel on relevant topics.
9. Maintain effective communication with families.
10. Be aware of and follow PATH policies and procedures, including those regarding confidentiality of treatment.
11. Be aware of and follow policies and procedures of CEP.
12. Maintain adequate clinical and administrative records
13. Participate in team meetings and case conferences.
14. Participate in committees and task forces concerned with planning policies and procedures as required.
15. Meet productivity standards.
16. Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MA/MSW in human services and a minimal of two years experience in various therapeutic modalities, experience preferred working with youth who have behavioral challenges; appropriate PA child clearance; ability to drive agency vehicle; flexibility to schedule evening and weekend appointments; ability to provide 24 hour/7 day week telephone triage on rotating basis and use of personal vehicle for in-home therapy appointments.
