Job Details:

I. Position Summary:
Works with considerable independence to perform and interpret various immunohematological tests in order to provide compatible blood for transfusion of patients. Is fully proficient in the use of all equipment and procedures for an assigned area.
III. Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or successful completion of an accredited four year school of Medical Technology. ASCP certification as an MT is preferred. Three years of Blood Bank experience.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies, and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.
ASCP certification as an MT is preferred or equivalent required or AS & MLT (ASCP) with three years of Blood Bank experience.
