Technician, Preventitive Maintenance - Biomedical Equipment
Sutter Health Support Services (SHSS) is the Support Center for the Sutter Health affiliates, which houses all non-medical support departments that are not provided at the affiliates. It provides expertise and guidance to support affiliate functional departments.The Preventive Maintenance Biomedical Equipment Technician is involved in performing the equipment operational and safety testing for The Biomedical Engineering Center. The primary responsibility of this position is the performance of Quality Assurance Inspections on a broad variety of diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment, as well as minor repairs discovered during preventative maintenance inspections. · Experience: Two or more years experience in the electronic equipment service industry. Experience in working in a clinical environment is highly desirable. · Knowledge: Human Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, and regulatory requirements including JCAHO, Title 22, and CAP are desirable. · Special Skills/Equipment: Individual must possess a valid California driver's license. Also, must maintain insurability as defined by the company insurance underwriters. · Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to lift at least 70 pounds unassisted (from ground level to a waist high cart) and 150 pounds with the help of others or with the aid of mechanical device. Must be able to test/repair equipment with audible indicators. Other Requirements: There is an expectation of travel throughout the Service Center catchment area with the probability of on to several days of overnight commitment. The ability to establish good customer/supplier relationships is a requirement of the position. Additional Information: Travel Percentage: 50%
