We are currently seeking a Technical Business Analyst for Batesville, IN office. This role is virtual, and candidates need not live in specific locations. JOB SUMMARY: The primary responsibility for this position is JDEdwards development and support. Additional duties, responsibilities and project assignments will be given according to skills and experience. The Technical Business Analyst shares the responsibility of defining business transactions with the functional business users consistent with the strategic direction of Hill-Rom. The technical business manager will rely on this person to understand the business needs, enable those needs within the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, and verify that the transactions are processing as expected. As plans for business changes evolve, including new process requirements, integration of acquisitions, or removal of divestitures, the Technical Business Analyst of the affected areas must evaluate the impact of the change, participate in developing a plan to implement the change, and implementation of the change through the ERP software to insure seamless integration within the functional business organizations. As part of the integration process, effective communication and education of the organizational and system impacts of such changes is crucial. A critical element of this process will be coordination with the other IT applications analysts to identify and include all areas affected by the requirements. Because the vast majority of Hill-Rom?s transactions are processed within the confines of ERP, these analysts are critical to the continued health and future improvement of Hill-Rom?s business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as liaisons between business users and business processes within the Enterprise Software system including but not limited to JDE. Ensure fulfillment of the business requirements within the Enterprise Software system including but not limited to JDE.Tactical Planning in alignment with strategic business direction. Translate business requirements into assignments and tasks. Develop a ?project plan? with tasks, resource requirements, timelines, dependencies, and budget. Monitor and maintain integrity of ERP system. Develop and implement a testing strategy and change control process. Develop the system solution and unit test, schedule and process an integration test, schedule and conduct performance test. Promote common system solutions and processes across divisional units wherever possible.Consults with business owners and other analysts to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, input and output requirements. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program. Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections. Works as part of a team developing program specifications for new systems and writes program documentation. Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs. Devises solutions to system-related problems and issues, which involve frequent communication and close user cooperation with other system analysts to assess and identify probable conflicts and investigating diverse data elements and sources. Analyzes and estimates feasibility, costs, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs. Researches and evaluates software and hardware to assist in programming or to use as program platforms. Required travel potential of 10% - 25%. Other duties my be assignedQualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Computer Information Systems with five years business experience in discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the standard company database, internet and ERP systems/software; project management, spreadsheet and word processing software. Must be able to work cross-functionally with other departments to resolve issues. Ability to communicate effectively to customers, both internal and external. Ability to define, analyze and resolve problems and follow through to completion. Experience in an FDA controlled environment. Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Knowledge of the following standard company applications/software is required: JD Edwards One World.Knowledge of the following standard company applications/software is preferred: MS Project, MS Access, Cognos Suite, Mainframe (CICS, TSO and TRMS), Agile, Active Directory, Lotus Notes Application, DSI, Oracle Database, Covus, Presenter. MS SharePoint, WebSphere, html, Java script, asp, Java, FormScape, SQL.
