Tax Accountant
Relevant Work Experience:: 1+ to 2 Years Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Description:Performs a wide variety of tax accounting duties, working closely with all levels within the PHS network to collect, process, review, analyze & report the tax activity of the organization.Performs research on tax issues and assists in the preparation and implementation of policies and procedures related to tax compliance.Assists in the preparation of tax returns, including but not limited to tax-exempt corporation income tax returns (Form 990, MA PC, various state returns), U.S. corporation income tax returns (Form 1120, MA 355A), U.S. Partnership Tax returns (Form 1065), and Real Property tax returns (Form 3 ABC). Assist in the monitoring of the PHS network tax compliance.Prepares and monitors the annual tax calendar.Assists in various tax and other regulatory reporting projects.Provides guidance to the Accounts Payable and Payroll departments regarding the taxability of payments.Assists in the payroll and fundraising registration processes for multiple states.Coordinates year-end 1042 and Form W-9 reporting.Assists Accounts Payable in the Form 1099 process.Maintain sales tax exempt certificates, responses from tax authorities, and databases required to support department tax initiatives.All functions performed within time sensitive deadline environment.Perform ad hoc analysis of tax issues to support management inquiries, and other projects and reports as requested.Ensures that customer needs are being serviced, including but not limited to entity CFOs, accounting managers, operational managers, and other finance areas requiring tax data input and output.Identifies opportunities for change and improvement, recommends and implements accordingly.Performs a wide variety of tax accounting duties, working closely with all levels within the PHS network to collect, process, review, analyze & report the tax activity of the organization.Qualifications:Assertive, self motivated team player with Bachelors Degree in accounting. 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in accounting. Healthcare experience a plus. Experience in developing and presenting materials to a senior team.Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to research issues and process complex transactions and procedures. Good oral and written communication skillsExperience in translating and communicating key analyses and assumptions to Senior Management for decision-making.
