TOOL ENGINEER

TOOL ENGINEER

This position is responsible for managing the identification and evaluation of new tools available in the market place.  Developing long term strategies concerning tool usage at Highmark, including multiple tool interaction, tool replacement, emerging technology, and adoption strategies. Develop tool architecture to meet enterprise architecture and infrastructure and user requirements using proven methodologies.  Design, implement, monitor, and document processes using proven methodologies.  Running large multi team projects which implement new tools and upgrade existing tools.  Leading multiple teams to develop best practices, standards & supporting processes for new tools.  Leading multiple teams to provide ongoing tool support, including mentoring, training and help desk support.  This position is required to comply with Highmark Corporate Policies and ISG Procedures and Standards

 

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma.  Six (6) years experience in Information Technology. Six (6) years experience with programming, and application support.  Five (5) years experience in tool support, interacting with end users, mentoring, technical design, and software development lifecycle.  Three (3) years experience in project management, team leadership and making presentations.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree is preferred. Masters Degree is preferred. Certified tool knowledge base on job requirements.  PMP Certification. Five years experience supporting test management tools including IBM Rational Test Manager, Manual Test, and Rational Functional Tester.  Three years experience in configuring test management tools including IBM Rational Test Manager, Manual Test, and Rational Functional Tester.  Three years experience in mentoring users on best practices, standards, issue and problem management relating to test management tools including IBM Rational Test Manager, Manual Test, and Rational Functional Tester.  Three years experience leading complex problem identification, management and resolution.  Three years experience leading and facilitating development and implementation of advanced test tool architectures using proven engineering practices.
