Systems Engineer

Job Description:General Responsibilities: * Perform installation and configuration of Cisco switches, routers and DSU/CSUs * Administration of Nortel PBX (especially BCM or CS1000 series) and call center software (i.e MAC work, voicemail installation/configuration, queues) * Receive phone calls from end users and troubleshoot / escalate appropriately * Work with all levels of employees and vendors to ensure that daily production needs are met. Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * 3+ years IT and/or telephony experience * Basic understanding of routers/switches/firewalls * Familiarity with VoIP, MPLS and VPN, telecommunications technology * Familiarity of computer hardware, operating systems and software, including Microsoft Office, Windows and Microsoft Exchange/Outlook * Ability to visualize and conceptualize user problems from a distance and work with the user remotely to resolve the issues * Strong troubleshooting, communication and customer service skills is required * Ability to manage multiple priorities and demands on a daily basis * Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work well as part of a team or independently * Cisco, Microsoft or Nortel (CCNA, MCSE) certifications are a plus We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
