Systems Administrator 3-AIX Unix

Medica is a vibrant health plan provider serving more than 10,000 employers and over one million members throughout the Upper Midwest.The Systems Administrator 3 is responsible for providing implementation and support functions for a diverse computing environment operating in corporate and data center computing environments. This position is responsible for ensuring the availability and integrity of key business and operational systems supported by AIX Unix, Microsoft Windows, Storage Area Networks, and other related technology. Responsibilities also include systems management, assisting with root case analysis and problem resolution, performing routine system maintenance, supporting the use of defined processes and procedures, coordinating technology infrastructure problem resolution activities including escalation to external suppliers when necessary, supporting the infrastructure and technology change control process, and working with key business partners to ensure the appropriate availability and performance for these systems. To be effective, candidates must utilize excellent interpersonal communication and project management skills to facilitate interactions within the organization. Individuals must have significant experience in systems administration and operations.5+ year exp. with AIX Unix, Enterprise Storage (IBM and NetApp), Enterprise Security Hardening, Operations Management (ITIL, Remedy) Bachelor's degree preferred Professional certifications preferred. Enterprise infrastructure reporting. Data Networking (VPN, TCPIP, SSL, DNS). Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect. Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
