Surgical Pathology (Grossroom) Technician

Dermpath Diagnostics is devoted exclusively to Dermatology Pathology. Our continued growth has created an immediate opportunity in our Alpharetta, Georgia practice for a Surgical Pathology Technician (Gross Technician).  The Surgical Pathology Technician associate will ensure accurate data entry and labeling of tissue cassettes with specimen accession number.  The associate will be responsible for the accurate match of specimen requisition to specimen container to specimen cassette.  This position is responsible for describing specimens, employing the use of inks, rulers, forceps and scalpels to section specimens, and submitting appropriate tissue for histological processing.  The department manager or supervisor may request the completion of other duties as needed.    Qualified candidates will possess an Associates or Bachelors degree with a minimum of 26 credits in science. This position will dissect surgical skin specimens. Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy will be helpful; however, we will train the right candidate.
