DescriptionSUMMARY: The Global Strategic Marketing Manager for Versajet is responsible for the development of global brand strategy, effective implementation of global marketing plans, insurance of consistency between marketing plans and overall global strategy, resource management, and effective leadership and communication across the organization.As worldwide expert, the Global Strategic Marketing Manager provides direction and leadership to New Product Development teams, Clinical teams, and other Global support functions regarding for product global commercialization issues. The Global Strategic Marketing Manager provides marketing leadership, working with US and International Marketing management teams. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Key AccountabilitiesStrategy Development and Implementation• Lead development and implementation of Global Marketing Strategy and plans for Versajet brands with effective collaboration with international and North American strategic marketing teams •Consistently define and refine current product offering and brand positioning and formulate proposals for the portfolio•Define future scope and depth of the Versajet portfolio, including differentiation and new product development•Develop and implement global positioning and pricing guidelines for products•Provide expert opinion and contribution to development of Global Business Unit strategy Communication •Liaise with business development, innovation teams, clinical teams, AWC SBU and other Smith & Nephew companies to insure consistency of overall messaging and timely execution of programs to drive response to customer needs•Effectively present business cases and strategies to senior management•Effective communication and dissemination of key information across supply chain, manufacturing, new product development and country and market management •Work closely with international marketing team and North American Marketing team to support marketing programs and identify new business opportunities•Communicate information regarding key activities to VP of Strategic Marketing in an effective and timely mannerMarketing and Team Management•Develop and maintain relationships with global key opinion leaders•Act as brand champion while maintaining knowledge of product category and market environment•Ensure consistent coordination of clinical, regulatory, new product development, marketing plans to ensure effective implementation of strategic plan •Ensure timely and effective response to in-market product and competitor activities to deal with issues such as product recalls or malfunctions or competitor launches or campaigns•Prime responsibility for the formulation of budgets and controlling team expenses•Conduct market research, customer interviews, and analyze to understand market dynamicsRequired SkillsEDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or science required; MBA or higher preferred.EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 7 years product management experience required together with some sales experience or equivalent in relevant advanced education. Preferable industry experience in medical devices, wound care and/or surgical equipment. Preferable US and International market experience. Experience in managing budgets and people. Good presentation and communication skills. Ability to build productive and effective relationships across functions in the company. COMPUTER SKILLS: Requires functional knowledge of Smith & Nephew’s selected business programs including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation programs, and other server based applications. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally requires lifting and carrying equipment and materials weighing 10-20 pounds.
