Staff Nurse- PICU/CICU

The Staff Nurse participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive patient care services and proactively supports the efforts that will ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and to promote a safe environment at Children's. Full Time and Part Time positions available8 or 12 hour shiftsFlexible scheduling - 6 on/8 off available!The PICU at Egleston is 30 beds and features state of the art equipment designed to treat the most critically ill pediatric patients.  The patient population includes seizures, respiratory failure, liver, renal and BMT transplants, trauma, and Hematology/Oncology emergencies.The PICU at Scottish Rite is 26 beds and also is designed specifically to meet the needs of critically ill pediatric patients.  The patient population at Scottish Rite includeds trauma, neurosurgery/neurology, Hematology/Oncology, and respiratory.The CICU at Egleston expanded in July 2007.  Our new, state of the art 27 bed unit is designed and staffed specifically for the acute medical management of pediatric cardiac diseases and post-operative cardiac surgical care, as well as critical life-saving technologies.  The population and cases seen include pacemaker implantation, repair of hypoplastic left heart syndrome (Norwood, Sano, Glenn, and Fontan repair), ECMO, and Intraaortic Balloon Pumps.   Qualifications: Current license in the state of Georgia as a Registered Nurse. Graduation from an approved Diploma or Associate’s Degree program. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Previous pediatric experience preferred. PALS after 1 year of employment. BLS certification is required. Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skills Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of date of hire.
