Sr. Research Assistant 

 

 

Under the direction of the principal investigator, will assist with research using biophysical models of neural systems to investigate the mechanism of general anesthesia.

 

Responsibilities include some C and Mathematical programming, systems administration, researching papers and some light office management and support.

 

BA/BS and a quantitative background (e.g. a major in Engineering, Math or Physics) required. Candidates should have an interest or background in neurosciences, be detail oriented, and able to work independently required. Familiarity with UNIX, and Windows required. 

 

Knowledge of statistics is preferred but not essential. Some programming experience in C or C++ is preferred as well as experience with a symbolic math program such as Mathematica. Experience with either of the neural simulation languages GENESIS or NEURON is a plus.
