Sr. Clinical Applications SpecialistSouthern CaliforniaThis is a dual role with aspects of a Clinical Research Program Manager / Associate along with a Clinical Field Specialist Engineer. Clinical Research Associate Responsibilities Conducts site visits to perform source document verification, protocol compliance, regulatory compliance, and operational execution in accordance with GCPs and company SOPs. Collaborates in the development of CRFs and data handling standards Tracks and reviews for completeness and accuracy, appropriate study documents. Identifies qualified investigators to conduct trials, including evaluation and conduct of pre-study site visits. May be asked to assist in vendor evaluation audits. Participates in Investigator Meeting preparations Reviews data for accuracy, completeness and possible safety trends Manage clinical trial materials at the sites Acts as primary contact for site/vendor staff. Will handle questions and issues from the site. Participates in study team meetings Assists in administrative and special projects as required. Clinical Field Specialist Responsibilities1. Technical Support: (a) Represents companies during surgeries and implants of products to provide troubleshooting and other technical assistance. (b) Provides technical support and follow-ups in hospitals and clinics. (c) Provides support with field clinical investigations in assigned institutions. Ensures completion of necessary documentation. (d) Receives technical inquiries by telephone. Researches solutions to questions or problems (e) Provides on call support as needed for surgeries, troubleshooting, follow-up enrollments, etc. · Meets with existing and potential clients (e.g., physicians, physician office groups at hospitals) to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and to discuss and demonstrate how company products can help them to achieve their goals.· Attends unit implants in the labs and operating room of hospital accounts and performs patient follow-up to assure customer and patient success with the implanted products.· Responds to customer needs and complaints regarding products and service by developing creative and feasible solutions or working with other related personnel (e.g., sales, clinical research, marketing, technical support) to develop optimal solutions.2. Educational Support· Educates customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using a wide variety of formats and platforms (e.g., slides, transparencies, manuals) to keep all customers abreast of the latest product, therapy, and technology developments and current items of interest in the industry.· Performs clinical and library research and participates in case reviews and clinical observation by working with physicians and hospital lab staff.· Develops relationships with hospital personnel (e.g. through casual conversation, meetings, participation in conferences) to make new contacts in other departments within hospital and to identify key decision makers in order to facilitate future sales. Desired/Preferred Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years experience assisting in the execution, monitoring and managing of Phase 1-3 clinical trials in a pharmaceutical, biotech or clinical research organization Bachelor's degree in a scientific related discipline. RN degree a plus. Experience with Opthomology related products and technologies a plus – OCT, Specular microscopy, Confocal microscopy, Gonioscopy, and Goldmann applanation tonometry. Previous experience working in a lead CRA position preferred Ability to influence decisions within the project and manage timelines across clinical, regulatory, pre-clinical and CMC Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Ability and desire to work in a team-oriented environmentAbility to travel up to 50% - both domestically and internationallyProven track record with technical training assignments. Experience in a cath lab, in biomedical engineering, in a hospital/clinic or medical sales.
