In this fast-paced role, you would have responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of our stand alone legal entity reporting and providing comprehensive analysis of the financial statements for use by management and our regulators for 80+ multi-billion dollar companies while gaining a bird’s eye view of our organization.  This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical thinker who has strong accounting and financial reporting experience.   If you’re ready to jumpstart your career, we invite you to apply today.   Primary responsibilities include:Serving as the finance point of contact for the organization from a stand alone company perspective Preparing and analyzing quarterly and yearly statutory filing Working with external auditors and regulatory examiners in providing required support Using variance and ratio analysis to identify problems Preparing and presenting information for the Senior Leadership Team Coordination with our various functional areas including segment finance, actuarial, tax, treasury and complianceThe chosen candidate must possess:Strong accounting and financial reporting experience Variance analysis skills Monthly close experience MS Office proficiency (including Excel) Bachelor’s degree in a related field  We also prefer:Statutory accounting knowledge Familiarity with Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft Financials General Ledger experience Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Healthcare industry background Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere: equal opportunity employer M/F/D/V UnitedHealth Group is a drug-free workplace.  Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.
