WebMD produces private health portals for large corporations, health care organizations, and government agencies. Over 35 million people use the WebMD Health Network each month to take control of their health and make better, more cost-effective health care choices.As part of Core Software Development, you'll be working within a high-energy team to produce elegant, robust, high-performance software solutions with the scalability to serve our rapidly growing business. If you enjoy an open and collaborative engineering environment, like to work on challenging technical problems, and have the skills to produce best-of-breed software then we'd like to hear from you!DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES' Design and implement web-based applications as a member of the engineering team' Contribute to the architectural direction of our software' Improve site performance and software quality' Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other team members' Collaborate with QA engineers, UI designers, Product and Project Managers' Estimate development tasks and deliver projects on schedule' Write software specifications that are clear and concise' Adhere to best practices including automated unit testing for all software written' Innovate new solutions and keep up with new and emerging technologies QUALIFICATIONS' BS/MS in Computer Science or related field' 4+ years experience developing large, scalable web applications ' Object oriented software development expertise required ' Experience with .NET 2.0 development using C# preferred ' Experience using SQL in developing database applications ' Solid understanding of ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS/HTML, and AJAX a plus ' Strong written and verbal communication skills
