Senior Software Engineer - QCPR Primary PurposeAssists in executing application management, including all aspects of application design and implementation for complex computer systems.  Work is performed under general direction and supervision. Duties and Responsibilities·  Assists in executing application management, including all aspects of application design and implementation for complex computer systems.  Work is performed under general direction and supervision·  Design, code, test, develop and document application programs and databases for complex computer systems·  Work with users to define system scope and objectives, and to prescribe methods and approaches·  Analyze and perform modifications to and maintenance of highly complex operational programs and procedures·  Create computer, subroutine and procedural forms and documentation·  Document file designs and program logic·  Analyze system and programming logic and make revisions·  Program clear and concise solutions to described problems·  Maintain project status documentation·  Provide  technical guidance and assistance to more junior developers and assist with software inspection·  Assist in technical training and development of other staff members·  Provide technical support to both internal and external clients·  As required, assist in evaluation, selection, and prototyping of technical architecture·  Assist in identifying process improvements and application enhancements·  Other duties as required by business conditions or as assigned Some positions within certain business units may require:·  Participate in on-call rotations as required to provide 24 by 7 technical support Qualification Requirements - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Education and Knowledge·  Bachelors degree in related discipline or equivalent work experience·  Solid skills in Cache/M/MUMPS is required.  Some working knowledge of Java/JSP/Java Swing/html/XML is preferred.·  Knowledge of health care/hospital clinical applications is required·  Working knowledge of project management using a life cycle methodology is required·  Knowledge of the QuadraMed QCPR system and application development methods are huge plus. Experience·  Seven or more years related experience in the same/similar work environment·  Previous experience writing and analyzing software programs is required·  Experience developing programs using a SDLC methodology is required·  Lead experience is required; supervisory experience preferred Skills and Abilities ·  Strong analytical and problem solving skills required·  Requires Interpersonal and English language skills sufficient to interact effectively with both internal and external customers, clients and vendors·  Possess basic office skills sufficient to meet production and quality standards·  Ability to handle multiple projects with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines·  Ability to interact with, and accept direction from, multiple managers and clients·  Ability to work independently is required·  Ability to define, plan and manage projects and supporting personnel·  Able to travel as required It is the policy of our company to provide equal employment opportunity to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, handicap or veteran's status, or status within any other protected group.
