 Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene and/or related field required.Masters degree preferred.Previous experience as a Safety Officer in a healthcare setting required.

Summary
The Senior Safety Management Specialist is responsible for 24-hour, 7-day a week operations of the safety function incorporating the seven elements of environment of care in daily practice and routine. The site safety officer works with site leadership to focus on prevention; investigation and education of safety-related issues ensuring the regulatory requirements are addressed. The incumbent will also be assigned system program responsibilities in an effort to coordinate overall practice. Provides, coordinates the development, implementation of appropriate education and training for staff, physicians, volunteers at assigned site. Conducts, coordinates, and standardizes internal inspections program at assigned site. Utilizes process to evaluate safety program effectiveness and reports findings to Board of Directors at least semi-annually. Prepares, maintains appropriate records, critiques, action plans, follow-up, and other paperwork to assure compliance. Initiates, develops, implements, and monitors the safety improvement process. For injury, illness prevention, and performs ergonomic assessments.
