Senior Data Center Associate

Data Center Operations is to process and protect corporate data and make it accessible to our partners and customers. The department is dedicated to supporting their ever-changing needs through a highly skilled staff and management of technology 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This experienced professional may create, document, and install batch jobs, prepare batch processing schedules, analyze data, or perform problem resolution and other functions for which he/he has had complete technical preparation. This level will train, advise, and lead other staff members. Shift: Wednesday-Friday 6:30 PM – 8:00 AM Responsibilities: 1. Diagnose job abends and system hardware/software problems. 2. Initiate corrective action, working with other units depts. or vendors as needed. 3. Perform adjustments to the automated operating schedule, balance work load and provide JCL overrides as needed. 4. Monitor all shift activities in computer operations, assisting other levels with console management, I/O device operation and maintenance, monitoring NT servers and Data transfer processes (FTP/NDM), tape library and print distribution tasks. 5. Participate in training within the department to prepare others for more advanced technical positions and stay informed about leading edge technology in data processing. 6. Provide administrative detail to record, track and report activities. Participate in process improvements. 7. Contribute to technical solutions and team building activities. 8. Expertly perform IPLs of all mainframe systems. Minimum Qualifications: 1. 5 years in a similar position with a large scale mainframe. 2. Working knowledge of JCL, job abend analysis and resolution. 4. Expert knowledge of the company’s current hardware/software, including but not limited to JES2, TSO, ISPF, CA-1, CA-7, CA-11, Remedy, CICS, IMS, EOS, OPSMVS, PC’s and Windows. 5. Analytical, project planning and change management skills. 6. Excellent communication skills along with good human relations, leadership and team building skills. Additional Qualifications Preferred: 1. Use of automated cartridge handling systems (silos). 2. Knowledge of CA-Autosys job scheduler. 3. Xerox DP180 Laser 4. PC and Mainframe Workstations
