Description

The incumbent will contribute to the achievement of project goals through the synthesis of target molecules using modern organic synthetic /medicinal chemistry best practices, including as appropriate: parallel synthesis, combinatorial chemistry, reaction scale up. Prior experience with the synthesis of kinase inhibitors is a plus.Under the direction of a Principal Investigator or senior principle investigator, execute a synthetic plan of a series of target molecules for evaluation in in vitro and in vivo assays..Execute multi-step routes for the synthesis of target molecules. Troubleshoot reactions and reaction sequences. Propose/explore alternative synthetic routes.Set up synthetic reactions on mg to kg scale, work up, purify reaction mixtures, isolate and characterize products, identify and interpret reaction outcomes. Be comfortable with multi-step reactions sequences.Maintain close collaboration with fellow chemists. Work in a team environment, towards common goals. Collaborate with scientists in other departments as needed.Prepare reports, publications, internal and external presentations in a timely manner.Practice safe laboratory practices. Contribute in ensuring the safety, organization, and full functionality of the laboratory.Contribute to new ideas for new molecules, new synthetic or medicinal chemistry strategies.Ensure ther company's intellectual property is protected by keeping detailed experimental records according to the company's laboratory notebook policies.
EDUCATION/ LANGUAGESBachelors Degree in Chemistry with 2 or more years or experience or Master's Degree in Organic or Medicinal ChemistryFluency in English is required PROFESSIONAL SKILLS && EXPERIENCETwo or more years experience in Medicinal or combinatorial chemistry required for BS candidates. Experience in purification and characterization of molecules using moderion chromatographic and analytical techniques. Proficiency in using and interpreting NMR and MS data for structural determination. PERSONAL SKILLS && COMPETENCIESGood oral and written communication skillsTeam sprit and strong interpersonal skillsWorking understanding of organic chemistry
