Description
The Immunology Research group focuses on optimizing anti-tumor responses through improving the robustness of anti-tumor immunity while reducing tumor-mediated immunosuppression. The individual in this position will be responsible for promoting the team's evaluation of anti-tumor immune responses by implementing state-of-the-art methods for assessing T cell specificity and function, dendritic cell maturation and antigen presentation, and the influence of the tumor microenvironment on the immune system. Key Tasks:In vitro assays of T cell activity.In vitro assays of dendritic cell activity.Assessing outcome of immunotherapy in mouse tumor models.In vivo monitoring of immune responses in mice.Monitoring tumor properties with respect to impact on immune responses.Evaluating impact of oncology standard-of-care on immune responses.
EDUCATION && LANGUAGESMaster's Degree or Ph.D. in immunology or immunology-related field. PROFESSIONAL SKILLS && EXPERIENCETwo to five years of post-degree related experience in immunology and/or cancer research.Experience with in vitro T cell assays, including ELISPOT and flow cytometry read-outs.Experience with dendritic cell assays would be a strong plus.Experience with immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy, and/or human lymphocyte culture, would be a strong plus. PERSONAL SKILLS && COMPETENCIESCreativity in applying experience to novel problems; expects troubleshooting to be part of the job.Ability to work in intense, fast paced, multinational work environment.Strong oral and written communication skills.Comfortable with balancing multiple project objectives simultaneously.Familiarity with requirements for data capture and reporting in the pharmaceutical setting would be a strong plus.Able to work independently with minimal daily input from supervisor. ADA REQUIREMENTSNormal and routine office duties.Ability to work for sustained periods of time in a sterile environment (i.e. biological safety cabinet).Ability to transfer samples to and from preparative and analytical equipment kept in moderately-trafficked areas.
