SR. PRODUCTION PLANNER

Manufacturing/Production/Operations       Total Work Experience: 5+ to 7 Years Job Description Covidien (formerly Tyco Healthcare/Mallinckrodt) has an immediate opening for a Sr. Production Planner. The Sr. Production Planner will be: Responsible for the planning and scheduling of work in process and finished goods through the production and inventory control process. Develop capacity and production plans in order to meet the company goals. Manages raw and WIP inventory levels on appropriate product lines to meet plant inventory targets. Build strong relationships with key internal and external suppliers and customers. Advise management on status of work in progress, material availability and potential production problems to ensure adequate personnel, equipment, materials and services. Actively participate in continuous improvement programs. Acts as a lead for any ERP system training issues and upgrade testing.Typical responsibilities include:- Create and maintain a master schedule based on analyzing the net requirements output from MRP.- Analyze and plan Plant capacity to meet customer requirements including New Product Development activities.- Analyze MRP output to place, expedite and de-expedite purchase orders to meet net requirements.- Support the plant in achieving Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators.- Maintain accuracy of the planning parameters in the ERP system.- Solve daily part shortages and line manning issues, working with manufacturing.- Must have the ability to identify issues, problems, and opportunities while maintaining effectiveness in a changing environment.- Manage Raw and WIP inventories, with the results of adequate inventory to service customer needs, maximum inventory turns and the minimization of Excess and Obsolete inventory.- Reconciles the financial implications of net requirement changes to the budgeted plan.
