Business/Strategic Management       Total Work Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Job Description SUMMARY OF POSITION:Responsible for executing the procurement processes for a variety of commodities in the manufacturing environment by utilizing strategic sourcing or corporate contract suppliers. Act as a liaison between suppliers, purchasing and other company departments for goods and services. Has a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Responsible for all procurement activities related to the procurement of parts for a lean manufacturing line. This includes multi-commodity buying and line supplies and may include obsolete component sourcing.2. Perform procurement activities within the Quality System guidelines.3. Responsible for data entry and maintenance in on-line system with high degree of accuracy.4. Company representative for supplier contact and negotiation relating to price and delivery.5. Resolve part discrepancies with respect to quantity and quality upon receipt, and resolve with supplier.6. Analyze MRP data and processes engineering changes.7. Interface with Accounts Payable to resolve invoicing and vendor payment issues.8. Implement strategic sourcing contracts.9. Drive the Purchasing Team to achieve inventory goals and resolve backorders.10. Lead Materials Department cost reduction efforts.11. Participates on cost reduction teams and strategic sourcing initiatives.12. Responsible for updating PDA system.13. Administrates annual raw materials contracts, capital equipment orders, production tooling and MRO items.14. Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts/agreements within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.15. Responsible for high dollar materials commitments and agreements.16. Serve as mentor and development resource for Buyers.Requirements: Education required/ preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.CPIM or CPM desired.Experience: Minimum 5 years experience with general procurement activities.
