Phoenix Childrens Hospital is the only specialty childrens hospital in Arizona and it is poised to become one of the foremost pediatric hospitals in the nation. The hospital is home to the states largest group of pediatric specialists and sub-specialists. In addition, the hospital continues to evolve its clinical practices and is working with leading local and national research partners to uncover new breakthroughs in pediatric medicine. Currently a 299 bed facility, new construction plans were unveiled in October 2006 that include the building of two new patient bed towers and expansion in bed capacity and other key programs and services over the course of the next several years. PRIMARY PURPOSE:Oversees the collection activity for an assigned segment of the Accounts Receivable. Performs collection duties in accordance with established federal and state regulations. WORK ENVIRONMENT:Activities are performed on an environmentally controlled unit subject to long periods of sitting and data entry; frequently required to bend, lift, push and pull objects up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer to verify accuracy and readability of information/reports and ability to communicate verbally in English by speaking, hearing, seeing, reading and writing are necessary to perform essential functions. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:1. Two (2) years experience with collection activity and reduction in accounts receivable in a healthcare setting. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Associates degree in Healthcare, Business, or closely related field, or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience.2. Experience with Misys Vision.3. Experience with AHCCCS billing laws and regulations, third-party and managed care payor billing requirements, registration, verification, and centralized computer systems.4. Experience with medical terminology and HIPPA.5. Ability to speak and write Spanish.
