This position requires bilingual English/Spanish. The Retention Representative is responsible to affirm members into the plan. Members being contacted by the retention Rep should be those who were enrolled into the plan within the previous month. The retention Rep will explain the benefits of the plan, how to use the plan and confirm the selected PCP. Should special needs exist with the member, the retention rep will work with care coordinators to ensure continuity of care. In addition, members identified as potential dis-enrollees would be contacted to resolve service issues and retain the member. In addition, the Representative will be required to complete documentation which includes timely reporting and documentation of results for use by management. The position is 50% inhouse and 50% field based. At all times, this position must conduct themselves in full compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Meets retention and outreach development goals as assigned by management. 2. Submits enrollment applications in a complete and timely manner. 3. Conducts outreach activities, to the new members and prospective disenrollees through the use of telephone calls, new member orientations, disenrollment surveys, associate and community referrals. 4. Responds and follows-up on leads which include entry of data into Amerigroup's Sales Tracking System. 5. Coordinates and implements strategies in an assigned territory and growing membership through face-to-face sales enrollment meetings, presentations, community and provider education sessions and social service outreach to existing and potential members. 6. Develops and maintains new contacts and/or partnerships in the community. 7. Conducts in-home presentations and community-based presentations and performs other activities in an effort to gain members and maintain and/or established positive relationships with providers, community and faith based organizations. 8. Develops and maintains new and existing provider and community-based organization relationships. 9. Participates in marketing events and exhibits as needed. 10. Identifies and enlists the cooperation of individuals, groups, social service agencies and other community organizations in educational and outreach activities. 11. Supports health and wellness education activities, referral of members to health education programs. 12. Acts as a viable resource to the membership and the community as needed. 13. Identifies cultural issues regarding current and potential members; communicate those issues and concerns to management immediately. 14. All other professional duties as assigned. Education Required: High School diploma or equivalent Preferred: BS/BA degree Years and Type of Experience Required: 3 yrs direct consumer services sales experience, if highest education level is High School. Preferred: Direct experience selling Medicare insurance products to seniors. Specific Technical Skills Preferred: Experience working with Excel and Word Certifications or Licensure Required: Health Producer's license issued by the State (must have a valid license prior to the first day of employment); must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a motor vehicle; must possess valid motor vehicle insurance. Knowledge and Skills: * Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision; * Experience working with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel and Powerpoint); * Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP program knowledge desired; * Excellent verbal and written communications skills; bilingual a plus (Spanish-English) ; * Strong time management, organizational and follow up skills required; * Must exhibit sensitivity towards the target population including experiences selling or caring for seniors; * Must be creative, innovative and have excellent interpersonal skills; and * Must be self-oriented, flexible, enthusiastic and energetic.
