Residential Counselor I/II
Position Summary:
As a Residential Counselor, you will teach resident’s activities of daily living (ADL's) which they will need to become self-sufficient. Additionally, you will facilitate group therapy, manage intakes/discharges, monitor medications, create a safe environment for the residents, case manage, and advocate for acceptance of individuals with mental illnesses within the neighborhood and community in which they live. Must be able to pass physical and obtain QMAP prior to starting.
Essential Job FunctionsProvide individual psychotherapy with clients to provide support and insight. Facilitate group therapy sessions. Provide case management services. Assess client, and provide appropriate intervention. Train client in activities of daily living (ADL's). Facilitate treatment-planning process. Complete intake and discharge tasks. Maintain unit safety. Document all significant interactions. Complete necessary documents. Respond to client and building emergencies, and facilitate appropriate interventions. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education:
RC I or RCII: Bachelor's Degree.
Experience:
Minimum two years of mental health experience.
Skills:
Communication, organizational, and clinical skills.
