Position Description:

A Research Tech position is available in an NIH-funded laboratory conducting research in the area of human genomics. The main focus of the research in the laboratory is the study of genetic disorders which result from chromosomal rearrangements like microdeletions, microduplictions and translocations.The position offered requires an individual who has recently obtained a Bachelor's degree (0-2 years experience) in biology or related field. Knowledge of molecular biology techniques that may include DNA and RNA manipulation, PCR, Southern hybridization, etc. or techniques in cytogenetics and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) are desirable.Computer competencies should include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on both Macintosh and PC platforms. Experience with UNIX is a plus.
