Research Analyst - Community Health Center Innovation Mission Project
Altarum Institute, a leading non-profit organization conducting research and consulting services for better health, is seeking an energetic individual for the position of Research Analyst, who provides support to a highly qualified team of 4-5 staff. This team is to be selected to launch one of three self-funded, 2-3 year Mission Projects - Community Health Center (CHC) Innovation Project. The broad goal of this effort is to work closely with a group of CHCs who have successfully implemented a broad array of integrated health, social and community services and who wish to augment their practice settings to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness in meeting their own objectives through systems change innovations. Some specific responsibilities include: 1. Participates in project planning and administration activities under the direction and supervision of the CHC Project Coordinator 2. Provides ongoing substantive and technical support to the Project Team as needed in areas including (but not limited to): literature review and Internet research and other data collection from primary or secondary sources related to CHCs 3. Provides input and support for research design and analysis of datasets for management reports, e.g., formative and summative evaluations, and research reports for publications 4. Provides data tables and graphs for use in presentations and publications 5. Participates in both stakeholder and internal meetings in the completion of job duties. 6. Researches, discovers and collects references for inclusion in an on-line database of literature citations and reviews and other resources as a knowledge base for use by team members in project task or publication preparation The successful candidate should possess: • Experience preparing data for assessing organizational effectiveness and identifying best practices • Some knowledge or a passion for learning about of community health center operations a plus • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in interaction with multi-cultural communities • Background and experience in health systems research and qualitative research is a plus. o Excellent writing and communication skills o Strong technical and analytic skill in using productivity applications, e.g., MS Office Suite, statistical analysis applications such as SAS and SPSS, graphing applications, and research literature databases Education: A Masters degree in an area of health or social sciences desirable, or Bachelors degree with certification, training or 1-2 years of experience in literature search, data analysis, and database creation and management.
