As part of the Telecare family, Redwood Place provides a wide range of services to 37 individuals with developmental disabilities. As a Rehab Therapists you will work closely with the Rehab Director on a variety of administrative and personnel tasks and projects. In addition, you will coordinate and provide rehabilitation treatment services for assigned Residents including:

 

1. Developing a schedule of therapeutic activities with and for individual Residents.

2. Coordinating and monitoring daily activities.

3. Coordinating and supervising Residents on outings.

4. Coordinating client fund raisers and special activities.

5. Driving the van on outings, as assigned.

 

• Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with Residents and acts as a role model in maintaining a hopeful and positive attitude in problem-solving and coping with the disabilities associated with mental illness.

 

• Attends and participates in community meetings and groups.

 

• Provides clinical supervision for Rehabilitation Activity Leaders, interns and volunteers, as directed.

 

• Leads and co‑leads therapeutic groups.

 

• Participates in the planning of the Rehabilitation Program.

 


To qualify, you must have one (1) year experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting. Experience working with older adults is highly preferred. A BA/BS or MS/MA in Occupational, Recreational, Music, Dance, Drama or Art Therapy or Vocational Counseling, license commensurate with the degree and a valid Class II California Drives License and insurability may be required. You will be finger printed and must receive clearance from Criminal Justice Department.

Bilingual is a big plus!
