Registered Nurse - Psychiatric
PSYCHIATRIC REGISTERED NURSE
Catholic Charities is looking for a full time RN to work with our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)Team in Bay Shore, NY. The ACT Team is an evidence-based practice for treating seriously mentally ill adults who do not otherwise respond well to traditional psychiatric care. Team services are provided in the community. The team caseload is intentionally small to provide a more intensive level of care by an interdisciplinary team of professionals including a psychiatrist, nurse practitioner, registered nurse, social workers and specialist in addictions, family consultation, supported employment, and wellness management. The role of the nurse is to conduct health assessments, work collaboratively with the psychiatrist and nurse practitioner in assisting clients to manage their medication, and monitor and assist clients in managing their healthcare needs as part of a wholistic approach to treatment. The RN role also includes managing our medication inventory and administering injectable medications. Work hours are typically 9-5 Monday through Friday but some flexibility is expected as client care needs require. There is also an on-call rotation among staff to cover non-business hours. This typically may include handling client issues by phone. Back up is available from the team leader and psychiatrist, as needed.
This position offers an excellent benefits package. Some benefits are: medical & dental insurance, 16 holidays/yr., 3 personal days/yr., 12 sick days/yr., free pension plan, AFLAC Cancer Care, Long Term Disability and more.
Interested applicants should e-mail resume to: larke.eppie@catholiccharities.cc or fax to: 631-758-0779.
