Registered Nurse Hyperbaric & Wound Care, St. Luke's
Job Description Imagine yourself working with this team…Nurses at Aurora Health Care have twice received Magnet Certification, the highest honor for nursing care awarded by the American Nursing Credentialing Center. As the largest private hospital in Wisconsin, Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center is the cornerstone of the Aurora Health Care system. People travel from across the country, and all around the world, for the technically advanced tertiary care available at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center. Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center has been a pioneer in the field of hyperbaric medicine. In April, Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center installed a new hyperbaric chamber which will triple the hospital's capacity to treat patients with hyperbaric oxygen therapy and improve its regional wound care services. The 52-foot-long, 66-ton chamber, the second largest in the U.S. and the largest in Wisconsin, will be able to treat up to 24 patients at one time.
Aurora Health Care commitment to shared governance, also referred to as shared decision-making, offers a structure where nurses' ideas are valued and appreciated. Aurora also offers a highly competitive salary and flexible scheduling options. We have a strong commitment to nurses' professional growth, offering 100% assistance toward BSN completion, credential reimbursement, and generous education assistance program.Imagine yourself in this environment… Hyperbaric chambers are primarily used to help treat difficult wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers, but also are used for carbon monoxide poisoning and a host of other medical conditions. During hyperbaric treatment, patients breathe 100 percent oxygen in a pressurized chamber. The increased oxygen in the blood stimulates small blood vessel and skin growth and helps fight infection.
