Registered Dietitian/ Nutritionist

The Renfrew Center of Charlotte, NC has an opening for a 20 hour part time Registered Dietitian.

The country's first residential eating disorder treatment facility, The Renfrew Center is a women's mental health center with eight East Coast locations and a nationwide professional resource network. The Renfrew Center specializes in the treatment of eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder) and related mental health issues.

The Renfrew Center has treated over 50,000 women since opening our doors in 1985. From the beginning, we address both underlying issues and behavioral change, and our treatment programs include traditional psychotherapy, psychiatry, and nutritional counseling as well as art therapy, dance/movement therapy and psychodrama. Our comprehensive approach to mental health issues is backed by experienced senior staff members specializing in the psychology of women.

Treatment is designed to be collaborative rather than imposed, and our innovative programs emphasize the value and healing potential of healthy interpersonal relationships. 

Responsibilities: Performing nutritional assessments of clients; counseling patients on the principles of well balanced nutrition in individual sessions; conducting nutrition groups; evaluating Renfrew’s menu/meal plan; and working as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.  Coordination of food / service vendors, food service supplies, supervision of dietary tech. 

Requirements:Registered Dietitian (or eligible for RD) in the state of North Carolina with a Bachelors Degree in nutrition/dietetics. 2-3 years experience, preferably working with patients with eating disorders.  Some evening hours required.
